Sigma 70-210/2.8

Recently I've been looking for some fast sport lens, which would be bright too. I was thinking about Sigma 70-200 or Tammy 70-200 both f/2.8. During my little research I found on ebay Sigma 70-210/2.8 but I didn't find anything about Pentax bayonet for this lens. Does anyone ever been using this lens, any reviews, bad points and good points for this lens?
cheers

AP did a review on it years ago. I can scan it you want. The review was very positive. Unlike later 70-200/2.8's the focusing ring turns in the correct direction if that matters to you(it does to me). They were the forerunners of the EX series along with the 300/4 and 400/5.6 APO Tele Macro's.

There is a review of the Sigma HSM II version of this on dpreviewhere and of the Tamron here. According to these the Tamron wins on image quality.

I'll try and get it done tomorrow and post a link, providing there's no objections here (copyright and all that). I'm on a hospital visit tonight and probably every other night

That's the 70-200 not the 70-210.

Thanks John, email received. Bit old review(93') lol, but they test it properly. Still one questions remaining... Does it comes with PK bayonet? Coz in that review says Canon, Nikon only for AF, I found one on ebay with Sony bayonet, but no sign of it for PK.
Thanks again John

Hi, I think it may have but can't be sure. IIRC it was around when I bought my 300/4 APO in PKAF, it'll be as rare as hens teeth if you find one

I've just sent you another short review in HTML format from the early days at Photozone. The build will be the same quality as the Sigma 300/4 APO Tele Macro, very good

Best regards,

John

I think there's a site dedicated to Sigma lenses including model history, but can't find the URL, anybody know?
