Hi Barrie/Ann
I have the 150-500 version and it is a great lens. So if the 50mm version is anything like then Alan's seems very fair value

OK chaps, a few quick snaps of the beast and a bit more info (please, no derogatory comments about the image quality:blush
The lens is in good condition and is free from dings and dents etc, there is some dust inside the lens which is normal with this type of zoom, but it has no effect on image quality.
The original lens caps and hood are included as are the lens strap and carry case, I also have the original packaging.
The only real sign of wear is on the tripod mount this appears to be a rubbery type of paint/coating which once chipped just seems to carry on peeling, I did consider pulling it all off and respraying it at some time. the tripod mount is of course removeable.
For images check out my portfolio, both the Blackbird and the Pheasant were shot with this lens

Always personal opinion, the 150 version superceded both the 170 and the 50. No experience of the original 50 'Bigma' however did use the 170 and found it lacking, hence the reason you can now buy it for £150-250 quid......

Currently £1119 at SRS, so I'm offering mine for £700, the lens is in excelent condition though the tripod mount does show signs of wear with the coating coming off in several places, I'll post some pics later.
I might consider a straight swap for long lenses of similar value such as the Pentax DA*300mm or perhaps even the DA*60-250
