Sigma 50-150 f2.8 lens

Ive been looking for one of these for a while but they seem to be so hard to find. I have two questions. If I find one, what's a good price to pay for it; my limit is around the £300 range. Also, if I cant find one, what are my options. I cannot afford the Pentax version and I don't know much about Tokina, Vivitar etc. I own a K3 that came with the 18-135 WR lens and I'm looking to replace this with a a couple of faster lens; I'm not a fan of lugging around loads of kit and my job doesn't require anything over 300. The Pentax 55-300mm is an excellent lens and should be within your budget. There's one in the Classified Ads at the moment.

In my experience having owned and sold 3 of them - the Pentax 55-300 does not even come close to matching the superb IQ that the Sigma 50-150 delivers.

That said, it is a much cheaper lens. I suspect you will need £400+ to pry a Sigma out of it's owners hands. I certainly would not part with mine for less than that.

Hmmm. I'm aiming for the best of both/all worlds really. There is one for sale on the classifieds but as you have noted, the price is outside of my current budget. I'm open to suggestions of fast not-so-expensive options. Or I'll keep looking and see what happens
