Sigma 18-250mm DC OS HSM

Having just bought a new camera and three new lenses, I am selling my Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM to recoup some cash! I was going to sell my smc Pentax-A 35-105 as well but I can't bring myself to, it's just too good a lens. Unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse......

I have had this lens for about 18 months, and it has been on my K7 and latterly K5 most of that time. It's a great lens as an all-round lens, solidly built, and I was happy enough with it's performance to sell both my kit lenses and use this instead. In fact I think it significantly outperforms the 18-55 kit lens at the wide end. Nearly all of my aerial photographs are taken with this lens. Stopped down it's very good, perhaps a bit soft wide open at the long end. A fantastic performer for such a huge range, and the benefit of the in-lens stabilisation is that you get a stable image in the viewfinder. In good condition, though there are a few marks where I had a jammed filter and had to use a jar-opener to remove it, hence the low price. These marks can be seen on the pictures. The filter threads themselves are undamaged. Also a few scuff marks on the lens hood. Optics are perfect. Th rear lens cap is not the original, it's a Pentax one, as I unwittingly sold another lens with the original Sigma rear cap. Front cap is original. This lens has had a UV filter on since new. Boxed with all the paperwork.
