Sigma 150-500 OS first outing

I had a few hours spare today to try out the recently aquired Sigma 150-500 OS, like Ralph in the other thread it wasn't the greatest of days but I couldn't wait much longer to give it a go.

All pics are as shot (hand held) just some minor adjustments and cropping in LR4, the horse close up was taken with a Sigma 70-200 EX MKI.

Nice lens, I think it will be in my bag for some time to come

Mine will have its first serious outing on Sunday - photographing garden birds...can't wait.

Its a learning curve with this lens Brian but the second last one, the gull, looks sharp enough. Wide open at f6.3 too

Better than the first outing I had with mine... As Alan says, It does take a little getting used to. Your brave to hand hold a large lens like this one. Of this set No2 is my choice.

Looking promising.

I collected mine on Saturday (thanks to Marc (blackplanet) for a pleasant transaction) but was too busy with prior commitments for the rest of the weekend to use it. Frustrating.
