Sigma 10-20

If Photozone's tests are to be believed (I know some here, and particularly on the Other Forum, distrust PZ since the 18-135 review ), the f3.5 version is inferior in sharpness/resolution to the older version. For what it's worth, I have the older (f4-5.6) version and love it.

Only in the extreme borders at 10mm. I wonder if they're gone at 12mm? You do also get simpler distortion at 10mm and 7 rounded aperture blades, which is quite classy .

I went for the f4-5.6 version too though!

I have the early F4-5.6 version. It's a superb lens to use for creative perspective work and landscapes.

I wouldn't be without mine (f4-5.6 version). It must be said that I only use it at 10mm, so a 10mm prime that achieves that sort of IQ would be nice and perhaps smaller and lighter. Occasionally I've tried 12mm or even the other end at 20mm, but I prefer to keep it at 10 and move to get the right effect.

Sometimes mine has poorer IQ on the left side of the image, but in other images I can't detect that - it may be something to do with sensor movement with SR.

With hindsight I probably should have got the 8-16mm when it was on offer at SRS, I think I'd like that even more.

Karl...I started off like you with a 16-45 on my original K10. Great lens, but I often yearned for that little more 'width'. I went for the 10-20 f4-5.6 and quite honestly, I couldn't live without it....it's my favourite lens!

I have the Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 and love the results I get with it. My Pentax DA*16-50 gets more use but there are times when that just isn't wide enough.

Got the earlier f4-5.6 version and use it often. Cracking lens, surprisingly versatile and never regretted breaking the bank to buy it over three years ago.

Only had 7 available at a very good price, so I dived in. Arrived just now. On checking ebay there are still 6 left. I'm surprised I'm the only one who has bought one.
