The data does lie. I invariably shoot in Av but the EXIF from my K200d says Tv, don't know why!
I use Av because I value depth of field and seldom shoot fast moving subjects.

I use the Tamron mostly hand held at 300mm and now with the Kenko 1.5 I try to have the fastest shutter speed I can get because of shake all other times I use Av or P

K10D: Av mode 95% of the time, manual 5% of the time (usually when using flash).
ME Super: Manual nearly all the time because Av not accurate enough for slides.
LX: Manual some of the time, Av some of the time (esp. when using BW film)
SPII/MX: Errr... manual
Horseman: S&PM (slow and painful mode... )

If you're talking about film then it's got to be manual, the MX hasn't anything else!
My other film bodies get used in what ever mode they have at the time, I'm lazy that way.

I've never understood the point of view that Tv is particularly useful for fast moving subjects. If I want maximum speed, I go for Av wide open, that way whatever happens I know I'll get the fastest speed the light allows.
But then I also grew up with an MV which only had Av mode, followed by an MZ7 which has quite clunky body controls and aperture ring support so I used Av a lot there too. I tend to forget Tv exists TBH.

Hi,
As others have said its the way the EXIF is mangled in the gallery that gives the impression that a lot of pictures are taken using shutter priority.
To see the true EXIF of a picture in the gallery go to the
'normal' view of a picure within the gallery where its displayed within a thread (eg one of my pictures in a gallery forum thread)
If you click on the picture its then displayed at the full sixe it was uploaded at and before having it's EXIF mangled by the forum picture resizing software (eg full size of same picture as before).
Then if you have an EXIF viewer (eg. OPANDA or PHOTOME - both availlable as free dowloads for Windows) then you can right click on the picture and view The EXIF through your EXIF viewer.
Of course this only works if the person uploading the picture has included the EXIF in the version which was uploaded.
