Hello.
A Pentax dslr has a file number of. 102- 0577. Does this mean that the shutter has been fired only 577 times?. If so, is the file number always the same as the shutter count on all Pentax cameras?

Thank you.

You can reset the file name count – so the number in the file name may not indicate the total number of times the shutter has fired.

The full EXIF information (at least in the RAW file) contains a "proper" shutter count.

The file number wraps to 0000 after you hit 9999, 19999 or 29999 shots.
