Should SR make noticeable noise?

I haven't noticed any noise from the SR either if that's any comfort. I love how quiet the K20D is!

You'll hear the noise on longer exposures
A very soft "humming" kind of noise as the CCD is "jiggled" around

Yes, it is a comfort to know things are normal. I also found that the mirror/shutter sound in the K200D is "softer" and more pleasant than in the K100D I had before.
And yes, Matt, i could hear the sound at long exposures (verifying its existence, I assume). Using the old rule of thumb, maximum exposure time for wide angle (18mm) should be 1/20s, so anything longer than 1/8s would be stretching your luck, ne pas?

Well, my K200D is virtually noiseless in that respect. I can hear the focusing motor, but nothing else. But based on the samples below it's obvious that the SR does work (both handheld at 1/10 s, AF).
SR OFF:
