That's a great shot Kris and the black and white conversion ideally suits the mood. Good composition is helped by that wonderfully shaped tree.

No filters at the time. In PP I added a curves adjustment layer and a black and white adjustment layer. I then added a digital soft ND grad adjustment just to darken the top of the sky a little. Lastly I added the frame. All this in CS3. I then sharpened and exported from Lightroom to a jpeg.
Best wishes, Kris.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Thankfully the Pentax Photo Gallery liked it too. That makes six now (out of about 10 or 12 attempts).
Now to decide which ones to enter next!

Well done Kris - very timely too seeing the discussions about the virtues of this and other lenses with roughly equivalent focal lengths.

As far as I am concerned the 12-24mm is the dog's dangly bits. A true APS-C lens though, vignettes terribly on 35mm unlike some of the other DA lenses.
Best wishes, Kris.
