Several lenses for sale.

Recently purchased a Pentax K5 which I have yet to see (Jessops advised me that it's going to be in February that I get it, WTF man). I am without a camera with several lenses. Some of them have to go.

All of the used lenses have been taken cared of properly and are functioning excellent. I like the Tamron 70-300 as I find the close focusing capability very useful but would like to keep the newly purchased (and unused) Pentax 55-300 considering all the rave reviews about it, so whichever gets sold first, I will have to advise that I will most likely be cancelling the listing for the other zoom that I am left with.

SMC Pentax M 1.7 50mm
Condition - Used. Front and rear lens cap included.
Price - £40 including RMSD (Royal Mail Special Delivery)

This was my very first "legacy" lens. I've owned this for quite a while, but since I have the A version, it's time this baby moved on. Great condition for its age, well used, a few dust specks inside, no fungus. Photos as follows:

Tamron 28-300 AF XR LD IF Macro
Condition - Used. Front and rear lens cap included. Lens hood included.
Price - £180 including RMSD

Back when I was using the GX-10 in the first few years, this was my main walkaround lens. Many of my favorite photos (especially of Brighton) were taken using this lens. Selling it for well below what I initially paid for. Photos below:

Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 Di LD Macro
Condition - Used. Front and rear lens cap included. Lens hood included.
Price - £100 including RMSD

An excellent copy of the lens. No zoom creep when pointing the lens down. The problems with CA is greatly exagerrated in my opinion as it can easily be rectified in post processing. One of the best value lenses anyone can purchase, and as I mentioned before, it may not be a true 1:1 macro, but the close focusing feature is really useful and I have found myself using it a lot. Pentax SMC DA 55-300mm f4.0-5.8 ED
Condition - Like new. Never used. All packaging like a new item is included. Warrant card, wraps, front and rear lens cap, manual, and the lens case included in the package. Lens hood included.
Price - £220 including RMSD

I won't include a photo since this is a new and unused item you can search online for photos of what this looks like (heck I'll post a product shot from a retailer website). As mentioned at the top, if the Tamron gets sold first, I will most likely cancel this in a day or two if no interest is shown. If this gets sold first, I will keep the Tamron.

Again, all items will be packaged well, boxed and sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery included in the price. Payment is via Paypal Gift only. If you would like to meet up, I live in West London near the Ealing Broadway area, I can knock off £5-£10 (depending on the lens) off the price.

If you are a new member and cannot PM, please advise so I can send you a PM. I have done several sales in these forums, purchased several lenses, sold a few lenses and even a Samsung GX-10.

I look forward to your messages and various offers!

I have the Pentax 55-300 and the Tamron 70-300 plus a K5. I wouldn't dream of selling my Pentax 55-300, but wouldn't miss the Tamron at all. True the Tamron is a macro lens, and is very capable in this mode, but suffers badly from chromatic abberation at anything above 150mm.

K5, K10, KX(film), Pentax 28mm f2.8, Pentax 135mm f3.5, Pentax 18-5(x2), Pentax 55-300, Tamron 70-300
Pentax KX film, K10, K5, K-01, K3.
Lenses:- Pentax 28mm f2.8 SMC - Pentax 135mm f3.5 SMC - 2x Pentax 18-55 kit lenses - Tamron 70-300 - Pentax 55-300 - Pentax 80-200 - Pentax 40mm f2.8 Pancake - Sirius 500mm Mirror lens - Sigma 70mm f2.8 EX DG - Sigma 10-20 f3.5. Pentax 35mm f2.4.
Various grips/bellows/ext. tubes etc. 2x Interfit EX150 flash heads.

Mamiya C33 TLR with 65mm f3.5 & 180mm f3.5 lenses.

Thank you for the comment. It looks like I might lose a gem here. No one seems to be interested, and there are several other people selling the 55-300 here so I might end up keeping it!

And many, including myself wouldn't part with the Tamron. It has some purple fringing in high contast situations but I've never seen any objectionable CA. Having said that I think £100 for a s/h one is a little optimistic, £70 maybe.

I think that is a little exaggerated. The Tamron 70-300 is an excellent lens and although it has more PF than say the 55-300 it is not out of the ballpark and I've shot many very nice pics at 300mm with no PF - just watch your high contrast areas (as you would with any lens). The macro setting is far more than a gimmick too - very handy to have. GBP70 is a nice price for a very nice lens.

You only have to look at some of Cliff-P's images to see how well it does close up shots.
