When it doesn't work good any more but at that time you will want a different camera any way.
I really wouldn't worry too much with DSLR only when you've troubles with it.

I would only consider getting a camera serviced* if it was ancient and valuable. No digital camera is ancient yet!
Pentax DSLRs are designed to last for at least 100,000 clicks with no routine servicing, by the way.
