JPsolutions are the official Pentax repairers and if you send anything to SRS they will just forward it on. I sent my 50-135mm in for a new SDM motor last year and if I remember correctly it cost approx £200 but you can get a 20% discount if you take out the forum plus membership (£10)

I have not had a motor replaced, but he recently fixed my 16-50 ( I dropped the camera and lens) and I was very happy with his service..

Sent my DA*16-5- * 50-135 off to JPS last year, both had their SDM motors replaced, and the 16-50 had its Zoom mechanism reassembled, I think the total cost was @£370 for both lenses, and they come back all adjusted correctly & with a 6 month warranty.....
I thought it was reasonable value, the lenses certainly perform bang on...the only downside was the time taken for the repairs....somewhere in the region of 8-10 weeks.....
Hey ho....

Just type Alan Marlow in Google, that's all I do.
I have used Alan several times and have recommended him to the forum on numerous occasions but when I asked him about doing a SDM repair he was unsure as to whether he could do it and so I sent mine to JPsolutions.

Another vote for Alan. Its worth noting that who ever you use if there are parts needed Pentax is very very slow at supplying them!

Yeah Alan said it could be about 3 weeks to get a motor from pentax.

Can't be worst than Canada. It takes three weeks to receive the parts from Pentax U.S.A. If Pentax U.S.A. doesn't have it in stock, it takes another three to five weeks. All in all, my 50-135 has been at Pentax Canada for 7 weeks, and still not done.Yeah Alan said it could be about 3 weeks to get a motor from pentax.
I'm pi$$ed off and a half.
