I do like these, both individually and as a pair. Lighting, texture, detail, colour (in the second), all superb. There's something ammonite-ish about that single seed - but perhaps that's what living near the Jurrasic Coast does to your brain!.

Interesting that you chose IR for the first. Is it much different to a straight mono version?

What I love about macro is the insight it gives to how nature may have designed things - in this case, the permeable tissue with all those radial veins that probably serve to wick moisture in to the 'nucleus'. Then you get someone like Roger who can pull it all together.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
