Would you care to expand on that? I'm guessing it has been licenced to a Greetings Card Company?

No, its the cover of the Christmas Special edition of AP! Bought that one the other day! A good issue, and I read with interest the tutorial on how to produce the perfect magazine cover shot! You clearly must have written the rule book on that DrO

Its a beautiful shot, how could they not have chosen it? I'm not too happy though that I read all about it and not once picked up it was a Pentax image

Nice one, Doc, I've got the magazine on digital subscription, but only just picked up that you took the cover shot. Excellent shot, well done! And a very Merry Christmas to you!

Well done, Doc. Very impressive. I have the magazine on subscription but am so far behind that I've just started June's editions so, by my calculations, I should ge to "your" cover by August...

Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Thanks all. AP didn't ask for a write-up otherwise I would have given a plug for Pentax. I don't think it was the best image submitted but I did think more than most about how it would look as a mag cover and reprocessed the original (landscape) image to fit the brief.

Gareth, it was the DFA100 with the 1.7 converter and photographed outside when it was snowing and just as I found it - the blue comes from a bucket that I placed behind it. It was actually quite difficult to find a suitable crystal and photograph it before got squished by another. Plus me and the camera were getting snowed on all the time. Took a couple of hours to get the shot.
