SDM issue

Hi,

is the SDM issue confined just to the old lens like the 17-70 and the 16-50* or will the issues persists even with the new DFA lens?
The problem is serious, as the 17-70 is still sold as new for 500 pound, but it goes for 200 on the second hand market as it could break so easily.

It's a different motor in the new DFA lenses. DC rather than SDM.

ah ok I didn't know, so no risk to fail?

Time will tell but I imagine Pentax thoroughly tested the motors this time. 😃

Anything can fail, even old screw drive FA* lenses!
(But I've never had any SDM lens fail.)
