Santorini with the 55-300

Whilst in Santorini for just 1 day on a recent cruise holiday, I decided to take a series of shots with the K-3 and 55-300 lens, the objective being to take some images that are not the norm for this location. Most Santorini shots you see are wide angles. These focus on compressing the perspective and picking out details, shapes and colours, which is not difficult with so many gorgeous subjects here. All comments welcomed.

What a lovely well crafted set David, really captures the place and of a quality that would grace any travel publication; makes me want to get on a plane.

Lovely shots, I especially like numbers 3 and 9. Having spent a week in Santorini I found that though there are lots of things to photograph, it does get very busy so it's difficult to take shots that don't include loads of tourists - so using the longer zoom to isolate subjects was a great idea!

Lovely set David... really like how you've gone for the detail... 1,5 and 8 for me, but the whole set hangs together nicely... particularly like the higgledy piggledy-ness that you've caught in 8...

Lovely set of photos. Clever composition and framing show off Santorini very nicely. Haven't been there for a long time... but your set makes me want to go back!

1,2 and 9 are superb. It's tempting to say it's a fantastic lens for the money; but in this case rather a great photographer with the right tool

1, 2, 3 and 9 for me, with 3 at the top of the list.
But the whole set is good and I'd be happy with any of them.

A good, diverse set David. The last image is up there with the rest. I've always been a fan of compression and even for street work found a 70-200mm to be invaluable.

It looks as you have made the most of your holiday and also managed to capture some wonderful images and memories.

Best regards
