Sandpipers Sheltering.

They were sheltering from the Westerly wind until someone spooked them, it was then wonderful to watch them fly and turn in unison similar to Starlings. Enjoy;

Thank you Kevin. I wish I had used a higher f stop though, depth of field is shallow, I was rushing and they let me get up close.

I quite like the fact that not everything is in focus - you've done a decent job IMO

I agree with John. There's nothing wrong with those. It must have been a thrilling experience to get all those shots.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Agree with all the comments. The parts of each image that are in focus are superb, f/8 obviously a sweet spot for the lens. For me the out of focus areas enhance the images.
Very jealous that you got such a great experience
