I am planning on purchasing a couple of Sandisk extreme III Sd cards from the states. I understand there are some fakes about and was wondering if anyone knows what to look out for or how to detect a fake card Thanks

There are some good deals on these at www.7dayshop.com in the UK.

As to fakes, you really need to go to a known dealer to avoid them. There are a couple of articles on eBay about them and what to look for.

Thanks Kim. Some very good prices indeed. But i can't work out how the 1GB is reduced from 55quid to 11.50 and the 2 GB is reduced from 39 too 17 quid

For a start, tax free and they are quoting the highest price probably from a couple of months ago on the High Street.

I bought mine from 7dayshop too and they come in full retail packaging with a small plastic hard case, a soft zip-up case for carrying two cards, a disc of photo recovery software and a free version of CaptureOne LE. I doubt the "fake" ones would have all the extra bits in the box.
