I have started scanning some of my 35mm mono and found these I took of North Beach, San Francisco a few years back, both were taken with Z1 and 17-28. Delta 400.
I scanned them in at 3200 dpi and have adjusted levels, curves and dodged and burned, comments welcome good or bad!

Do I crop lamp bulb at top of frame out or leave alone?

Lilly,

Again you floor us with your images!

As for cropping the light in #2, how about only the bulb - leaving the shade and that wonderful old wooden ceiling? It's only the bulb that I find distracting in any way.

Cheers

I think leave the bulb - it's a little distracting but if you cut it out you'd also lose the angled pictures on the left and I think they form a nice frame by leaning in like that. The first shot's lovely!

Very nice Lilly, I'd also leave the light alone its not overly distracting nd theres plenty of interest in the image to keep thy viewer interested.

PS I think the first pic is slanting slightly

10 out of 10 Lilly, these are very good.

Do you still use the 17-28mm ?

It was my favourite on the Z-1, in-fact it was my 'standard lens' for the Z-1

I don't use it so much myself any more, but I should, it gave good results.

This week's competition shows the result I got with it on the DS.

Must go and dust it off and give another outing

Mmmm, good : , I do painfully remember the hole it made in my purse at the time (not much change out of 500 quid, mental or what all those years ago!)
Like you it was never off the Z1, 'tis true it was/still a cracking lens and superb optics...I adored it, but, was so gutted when I realised the loss of wide angle with digital.
I have on occassion used it, but not as much as I should, especially since the 10-20 arrived, I must dust it off also I tend to get sidelined with new toys!

thanks, Lilly
