Does that therefore mean that the pentax versions of the same lens are too?

The Samsung lenses are rebadged Pentax lenses but in a Schneider livery.

Who knows who makes what, expcept to say that some of the designs are in conjunction with Tokina and also Tamron.

Pentax have two Vietnam factories manufacturing the lenses, although others are still made in Japan. My 50mm f1.4 is still maked Japan, for example.

Pentax makes lenses marketed under two names:

1. Pentax
2. Schneider Kreuznach

All lenses are assembled in Vietnam, also the ones with the Schneider Kreuznach label on them, as I have seen on the Schneider 18-55mm.

This discussion has been had once or twice before, and I think this interview quoted. However, I would suggest the fact that many of the 'Schneider' lenses were available as Pentax ones long before the Samsung ones were available would suggest they are indeed Pentax designs.

Yes, the quotes on the subject from Samsung tend to be very carefully worded and don't actually make any claims about the lenses being Schneider design or manufacture.
