The writing has been on the wall for somtime, even Nikon has said it will nolonger be producing 35mm film bodies of lenses with immediate effect, except for a small range at the top of their tree to satisfy pro market.
Ineffect, although they never made a statement, Pentax were ahead of the game when they reduced their film body lineup 18 months ago, looking forward to the D upgrade now, I hope they make it special.

You can still get glass plates to special order, so it may be a while before film disappears....

Come, come. Since when did you, or anybody you know, buy a 35mm camera made by Kodak? I didn't even know they still made 35mm cameras. It's no loss at all.
Nobody is able to sell new 35mm cameras because there are so many available second-hand. These are being recycled to people who appreciate them, and film will continue to be available for as long as enough people want it.
It's when film disappears that you will need to shed a tear. This news is totally irrelevant to anything, especially to people who like GOOD cameras.

Fair enough, George, but a Kodak Ektra II would be rather nice to have...
There was a time when Kodak did actually make some very desireable cameras!

Psst, don't tell Kimbo. He'll want one too, and they haven't been discontinued yet.

I'm not really bothered, I and I'm sure many others will be using their film cameras for quite a few years yet.
I did like some of the comments that were posted tho'
