S5i digital zoom gives fuzzy images

Hi everyone.

S5i arrived a few days ago and seems pretty good except that some images seem rather blurred across the the entire picture - nothing in focus reliably at all.

Investigation shows that all of the noticably poor images have slipped past the optical zoom range into the digital zoom range, some by a tiny amount. It seems to be enough to make the images very fuzzy.

Anyone else had the same problem? I have now turned the digital zoom off since the potential for trashing a shot by going anywhere near the digital component is so great it is a risk not worth taking. But it would be nice to think it could be used sometimes if needed.
