Hi Dano,
Your camera is not a night vision scope! The display will not be able to show you anything other than pin point sources of light from lamps etc.
Cameras are able take shots in nearly dark situations by using very long exposure times but the display on your camera is updated many times every second so it cannot work in low light.
However, once you have taken the shot the display will then give you a good idea of what you have captured so you can adjust the exposure accordingly.

Thanks Dave , I took a few pictures ok after i took them i viewed wht i had taken?/ But i know it seemed a daft question but i had to ask. Thanks for taking the time out to reply.
