K-1 & Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2.8/25

Day 3 of my challenge to use the above lens for a month. I've been flight simming or space simming since the mid 80s (David Braben's Elite) and over the last 9 months have been slowly upgrading my HOTAS (Hands On Throttle and Stick) to something more current than the kit I've had for the last 10 years or more. This arrived yesterday after spending 2 months in the post. Originally Russian built by someone of a legend in the simming community name Roman Bauer, he has since gone onto become chief engineer of a high end sim equipment manufacturer called Virpil. It is fairly large as you can see, that is a DFA*50 beside it but it is extremely robust with heavy duty cams and magnetic sensors. Should last me through till my reflexes and eyesight go.

That looks a solid bit of kit. I was into flight sim for years, I had a yoke and even rudder pedals. When i upgraded my computer to windows 10 i didn't bother re-installing. I could not bear to go through all the hoops, and will wait for the newest version of Microsoft's sim if I decide to give it another go.

Been running CH Products stuff for over 10yrs but you definitely notice the extra resolution with the newer magnetic sensors. CH = a DA plastic vs this as a Takumar purely on the tactile side for smoothness in operation but with DFA* resolution
