Had a walk along my favourite stretch of the Anglesey coastline today...the weather was pretty good but lighting for photography wasn't great, quite hazy...

I had a go at South Stack lighthouse whilst passing, even though I wasn't happy with the lighting..I've posted the coulour version and a mono conversion and would appreciate some feedback, on composition too

thanks

Simon

For what it is worth...

I quite like the composition. I think the little white building on the cliff top is burnt out, however (you might be able to "recover" it if you shot RAW). Although I am a fan of BW the conversion seems a little flat to me. It might look better with a bit of a boost to the contrast or a tweak to the curves (or just left in colour!).

The main problem, as you said, is the lighting is not very exciting. Dawn, dusk, sunny day with poofy white clouds... It is a lovely spot with great potential on a day with more interesting lighting.

Hope this helps!

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
