I think you missed my point John, I wasn't referring to other marque compacts, just K mount equipment. Yes we discuss other K mount stuff but it's always related to Pentax, Examples of allowable topics would be "can I use a Pentax lens on my old Chinon"
A non allowable topic would be "I have an old Chinon with a sticky mirror is it worth repairing because I have lots of K mount Lenses" but throw the word Pentax into the topic "I have an old Chinon with a sticky mirror is it worth repairing because I have lots of PENTAX K mount Lenses" and it becomes relevant, it just seems rather odd.

It only gets odd when people are being a bit obtuse about it though.

Who told you that wasn't allowed? Do you have an old Chinon K mount camera with a sticky mirror? If so, the answer to the question is "probably not".

Are you possibly over-thinking this and expecting problems where there are none?
