Well that doesn't help my "Which shall I buy - Oly EP1 or Panny GF1?" dilemma...
I quite like my Ricoh GR-D and something along the same lines but with a larger sensor and interchangeable lenses would suit me nicely.

You've got me re-thinking small camera now!! Looked at the Pani and a couple of others. My back pocket machine at the moment is a wee Fuji EXR 200. Its not bad at all and the split sensor functions actually seem to work. Would like something that small with IC lenses.
GOT IT! Pentax 110 conversion...already got the full kit in an ally case some where in the loft, just need a donor back and some solder....

Actually I could live with a fixed lens to be honest, I just want something that slips in the pocket but has a larger (FourThirds/Foveon/APS-C) sensor. The Sigmas look good on paper but are slow and cumbersome in operation, and the Leica X1 is far too expensive for what it is (the cost of red dots is astronomical I hear).
But now the technology is in place I'm just hoping the next year will see a slew of high-quality compact cameras from Pentax / Nikon / Canon / Sony etc. My wallet's probably going to stay put for the time being...

Ricoh will have a presentation of a mirrorless APS-C camera on November 12th, 2009. The camera will be available in December 2009. I am expecting more details in the next few days.
This is the information I posted two months ago on this rumor:
Ricoh is working on a compact camera based on Pentax’s K mount. It’s not clear if they would use the exact K mount or the M 4/3 approach by keeping the mount diameter in-tact and reducing the distance so that older K mount lenses still can be used via an adapter and a new series of new “micro K mount” lenses will be introduced.
