If it's possible could someone with a K-7 tell me if it is possible to take a pic out of a video shot in the highest quality and if so post a full sized .jpg here?

Thanks.

Yes it's possible, here are a couple of quick and dirty frame captures.
Light wasn't the best.

Wow. Interesting: so the K7 works at something like 30fps with this quality. Nice fast action camera if the AF worked!

How do you grab the shots from a video?
Thanks
Tim

Quite an easy process. Simply play back the video and pause at the desired point (with the four way controller, top button). Then press the exposure lock button to capture the frame and save (OK button)

HD video is surprisingly good and with the potential of the Pentax lens range at your disposal it can be quite an interesting creative tool

Absolutely, the simplest way is to hit the print screen key when playing the avi file then open up MS paint and 'paste' then 'save as'.

Alternatively use your video editing software to capture frames (if it can) or a program like 'fraps' could probably do it too.

Huw
what's the size/resolution of the image you manage to get that way?
Is it printable?

Thanks

Hi Amin,
the size of the image captured is exactly the same size as the movie format you select in settings.
In this case I have selected the highest movie resolution of 1536 x 1024 (3:2) so I guess you could use it for small prints, although I haven't tried it yet.

With 1536 x 1024 you have a DPI of 256 when printing 4x6" (10x15cm) size so good for that size.
