Replacement HotShoe Bracket for my AF400FTZ?

Posted 03/05/2004 - 03:29 Link
Some small children tipped over my camera with the AF400FTZ still mounted, and the Hot-Shoe Bracket (the plastic piece at the bottom of the flash -- it has two small screws, and the four connecting pins stick through it) broke into three pieces. I'm afraid that super-glue won't help much here, as it is a structural part. Is this a standard part that I can find somewhere? Is there a part number? If not, is there some workaround?
Thanks

I should ask Pentax if they have spares for this; you never know, they might.
Alternatively, you could cannibalise a part from a non-working or cheap gun.
Looking at my flash guns, the AF240FT has a rather different mount, without screws, so it's no good. However, the AF240Z and AF200S both look as if they might work, though you would need to make another hole because they have 3 pins rather than 4.
Keep a look out on Ebay for old flash guns.
