Not sure if this has been covered, but looking to get a remote switch for my K100D, are there two types? & if so which one to get,

Do you have a manual for your camera? Not sure if this has been covered, but looking to get a remote switch for my K100D, are there two types? & if so which one to get,

If not, you can download it here.
See page 191.
Which one to get depends on whether you want a wire or not, and how far away you need to be.

If you want a wire one look at the generic remotes too. Ones for Canon also fit Pentax, and they are much cheaper.
I think if you are a bit handy (which I am not) it is also fairly easy to make one.

Indeed, very easily done. I knocked this one up in half an hour from easily obtainable components from Maplins

Very cool, but does it support half-press for auto focus?

Of course and it will put out the trash also. The only downside is it won't store away in your battery grip

Not yet, but I intend to use the three yellow multicore cables on the right for that and just wait until you see the re-designed grip!
