Remote Shooting Solution req'd

Hello All, Id like to place my K10d approx 20m from my house to capture birds in the garden but the usb cable limitations restrict me to 5m , ive seen a usb 2.0 over cat5 booster and was wondering if anyone had used one of these and how good are they? or is there an alternative ?

No, the remote has a stereo plug. The problem seems to be that the resistance between the pin and the sleeve when the switch is open is only about 20k, which both my *istD and my K10D seem to think is low enough to be closed! Don't know if this is a design flaw or just I've got a duff one.
