I don't want to sound negative Chris but I'm not keen on this.

Obviously the camera with its monumental sensor makes it a shot of the highest technical quality but the lack of visible eyes and unflattering wrinkles on her cheek and neck together with the almost painfully forensic skin detail and bags under her eyes make this glamour shot hard to enjoy.

I bet this camera could be used for breath-taking straight portraits of, say, an aged person.

But then again, what do I know about this branch of photography? Or, indeed, the handling of cameras of this standard.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Thanks for the comments Andrew,

The laid back pose was something the lass wanted, this was against a wall in her yard, she didn't want any retouching as this was a shoot for her 50th next month, she isn't one for having the plastic skin effects that make portraits look so false these days to which I applaud her for that, imo for approaching 50, she looks great.

Wowsers, she's approaching 50! I'd have put her late 30's, early 40's, she's fit, I mean, a very beautiful lady!

I like the pose, it's almost like an image that's just caught a moment rather than a pose, what with the relaxed pose and no eye contact and I mean that in a positive way. That warm light to the right of the image I find distracting against the wall she's leaning on. Maybe if a warm gel was used to balance the flash on the cold wall or a mild WB tweak to warm things up a bit?? Also (and if I saw it I may change my mind) but I'd have liked to see a little white of the eye, not eye contact but just a glint of white to lighten them up a bit. Having said that I do like the eyes and they fit with the pose very nicely.

All in all I'd have been happy to shoot that image.

PS - A little declarity on skin works wonders, not to porcelain plastic skin but a tad to knock off a little bit of skin detail

Good heavens, Chris. The lady is remarkably well preserved for her age. That puts a different perspective on the shot.
Best wishes,

Andrew
