I've got one and it seems pretty good to me! Great value for money, and seems very sturdy. Lots of useful little extras like retractable spiked feet, a spare (shorter) centre column, and a really excellent bag.
It's not the lightest, but IMO a great buy if you don't use a tripod too often.

I've got their three section legs and their ball head, both are great. The ballhead is very nicely made and takes standard Arca Swiss-type quick release plates, so you can buy longer plates to adjust the camera's balance by shifting the centre of gravity.

I use the Redsnapper tripod with Pan head - for the money (& a bit more)I don't think you'll find anything as good. The only reason I'd consider changing it would be for a CF one as the aly one is a bit weighty, very sturdy as a result though

Saying that I bought it over 2 years ago and havent used it yet so I suppose it doesn't really matter.

The ally legs are a bit weighty but weirdly they don't feel it. I wandered around a few bits of woodland recently with mine over my shoulder and it wasn't uncomfortable.

I've had the tripod, ballhead and monopod for a while, oddly used the monopod more but going to get out with my tripod and see if I can get some good night shots.

My TRI-283 is excellent, if a little heavy. The head doesn't seem to lock in position (particularly rotation-wise) very securely but that's likely because I'm not doing it properly

The one complaint I had about the ballhead was that mine didn't include instructions, but I've now figured out how to use it properly.
Starting from the bottom the first knob you come to locks the head to stop it panning. Moving up you find two on opposite sides - the larger one is to set the friction on the ball so that you don't have to worry about it flopping over, then a slight tweak of the smaller one locks the ball in place. The very top one opens the quick release.
Just don't over-tighten anything as you can do serious damage. Mine locks solidly with the knobs turned until you feel resistance, it isn't like bolting a car wheel on!
