I found an hour this afternoon to pop up to the local aero club to grab some shots with my new DA*200. Typically the nice blue sky turned all murky the minute I unzipped the camera bag! But as luck would have it Rob, one of the pilots, was giving his beautifully restored Taylorcraft some exercise.

I always find it tricky getting the optimal shutter speed for propeller aircraft; anything much above 1/125 and the prop. looks too static, and anything much lower you run into shake problems with a telephoto. I'm still going through all the pics, but I was happy with these three for starters.

All shot in RAW with the K20D and DA*200, processed in Aperture 3.

Very nice set! Great panning work on the plane, and I like the shot of the row of helicopter rotors.
