RAW headroom?

Hi all,

Forgive my ignorance, but having recentlyy aquired a KR I was somewhat perturbed to read about it having "not much RAW headroom", what does this mean in practical terms?, does it mean the RAW files are not as big as say a K20's?

I think it means that highlights can be clipped, and can not be pulled back in RAW as easily as with some cameras. The information is gone, and cannot be retrieved. Rather than allow it to clip highlights, you can dial in some negative exposure compensation, and lighten the dark areas in your RAW software. The Kr will produce less noise than the K20D did if you do this.
