Couldn't stand sitting in front of the TV one more minute. Between the storms I was popping out to practice with my 280 flash and macro setup.

That's really nice! The water appears to be cascading down the petals.

I feel I want to do something with the composition, but I can't put my finger on it

I know what you man Darkmunk. It is really nice, the water droplets are well captured and yet somehow the composition doesn't work.

At least you are getting breaks in the rain - it has rained all day here

Hmmmm. I'll look at the original and see what else I could do. Didn't want to cut off any of the main bud.

no the main bud is gorgeous. I think it all needs to go up in the frame.

Maybe a tighter crop?

Hope you don't mind - I'll remove it if you want me to.

No problem. That is basicly the crop I was just playing with.
I'll just have to cut a custom matte for it.

The first thing I did when I saw the image was make the browser window really small to see what could be done, but I couldn't decide.
I think you have nailed it there Gwyn, maybe a little tight at the bottom, but a more powerful image definitely.
Colours are gorgeous aren't they?

Thanks for the comments and tips.
This is one I plan on entering in the fall contest at the nature center.
