You wouldn't want to step in that Don - was that a dirt driveway under that torrent?

No the drive is on the right, the drain (left) is a rock strewn thing and the rocks end up down on the road.
Bundaberg I think they are waiting for the floods to peak,listening to the radio at work last night and Emerald peaked at 16 mtrs (48ft,ish) above normal river levels

I read that an area the size of France and Germany combined affected by the flooding - that certainly puts things in perspective!
My son's partner is in Cairns at the moment with her friends. They say it is wet there but not too bad - it hasn't stopped the snorkelling expeditions, but may affect their onward plans.
I hope you keep dry Don!

48 foot- that's crazy. I experienced the Tewkesbury flood from close up (on a narrowboat from which the fire brigade had to rescue me on a dinghy) so I can guess at the horrors people are experiencing. I hope that no towns were built within the floodplain.

A couple of inland towns(300 people) have been evacuated, we are in good shape in the north
