Quick scoot along the Solway Coast...

Four hour Bike ride yesterday afternoon, with my new acquisitions.
K5IIs/ Lenses used were the Siggy 8-16/Pentax 16-50 and 50-135...

Found this Artist type at Drumburgh, wish I could have managed to get a better representation of what he was painting in the background but I really didn't want to tee him off as he was concentrating!

My usual shot of Port Carlisle, I use it as a bit of a Lens test, this time for the Siggy 8-16, I like to see good detail in the old harbour wall, then I'm happy!

Looks a nice place and the skies have out beautifully in the photos.

Maybe it actually works better as you look at the painting to see his view of the landscape rather than get the same as everyone else when they stand there.

Or maybe I am just over thinking things

You could be right Mike, I was just trying to give a representative view of what he was painting, without shoving the 16-50 down his lug!
As for the Canon/Nikon thing, I'm genuinely sick of being asked which I use. "Nikon or Canon then?" "It must be Canon coz you just can't get colours like that with anything else!" Does my head in to be honest...

Many thanks! We are blesssed on the Solway coast with a benevolant microclimate which often produces lovely skies and with distant clouds over the scottish hills for a bit of interest, lucky too, in that I have the Lake district on the other doorstep.

A wonderful set of shots, Jules. I really like all the very different layers in the third image - have you been studying "Rhein II"? (I prefer yours - and I would guess that it might be more affordable!)
