Q7 at capping ceremony how the ?

Hi Folks,
My daughter is getting to walk across the stage in unknown lighting again
I have had several versions of this adventure ...
from the K100D and the M135 to the K-5 and 21.
One time a 'friend' was on the lighting board and cut the lights at the crucial moment...

I haven't got a 70-200 2.8 and my longest prime AF is the F100/2.8 beercan
The 55-300 would have me thrown out from the extended whiring noise

So I thinks why not the Q7 and the 06...
Saves lugging the K-5iis et al half the length of the country

Thusly my question arises ( if anyone is still there

How best to setup the little leica for this task of unknown light and distance ?
I think seats are just alocated so pot luck there.

Is it iso800 06 wide open and MF and peaking ?
maybe I can sneek in the monopod and use wireless trigger

any thoughts most appreciated

Q7 and 06 lens should be ideal. i would start with ISO 400 and wide open at f/2.8, with -1 EV exposure compensation. Use Av with centre weighted metering and also set AWB.

If necessary, use ISO 800, but on a stage there should be plenty of light.

If your daughter is more spotlit increase exposure compensation to -2 EV.

Then see how it goes and adjust as necessary. Incidentally, shooting in JPEG should be fine and you should get lots of interesting lighting effects,

I had no idea about the -1 compensation for stages.
So auto WB is better than trying to pick something is it ?

The lighting can be very mixed and constantly varies in intensity and colour. AWB can average it all out quite successfully.

I had a bit of a trial run at a music event with said combination.
The light was probably lower than I can expect and the action faster but got no keepers.
Shutter down at 1/16 and iso over 1000.

Had me revisiting the exif of her earlier event It was the K100D with the M-135 800iso and 1/100. Presumably at f4. . The shot was fine and printed very well
Cleverly I sold the M135...
Just looking at reviews and the A-135 seems very good. Maybe I'll chicken out and take the K-5iis with the Q7 for wide shot...or a movie even

There's definitely merit in opting for a larger sensor camera, if the lighting levels are not expected to be particularly high.

I've started auditioning other options for the K-5iis. Considered the A135/2.8 and was ready to splash the cash.
latest theory is to take the FA77ltd in case I'm seated close to the front...
and the AF1.7xTC if I'm not
Figured the 77 on the TC is the samish fl as the 135 and presumably as good.
sorry to drift from mirrorless !

Thought I should conclude the question
I bought a very nice A-135/2.8 and took it, the AF/TC
and the 77.
Turned out I could sit close to the front with great naturalish light
so the 77 more than did the job
