Q Tips

I was using the Q almost all day today, rotating the batteries as they needed charging.

I had a load of copying to do for a presentation, so I used the Q set to 3MP. The pictures would therefore be just about right for a Pectures2Exe slide show.

It did the job just fine. Now and again something would defeat the AF system, so the easy answer was to pop a paperclip on top of the subject and then it focused straight away. Brush away the paperclip to remove it before pressing the shutter.

Does the Q have a DC power input, to avoid cycling sets of batteries?

Being a tightfisted Welsh skinflint, I am resistant to paying out oodles of my pension on over-priced proprietary powerpacks. I have often wondered if one could run a camera on lead-acid accumulators. For instance, a motorbike 6 volt acc should be ok on a camera that runs 4 x AA cells. It's mainly a matter of finding which of a multitude of coaxial connectors will suit a particular camera. Assuming that one has some soldering skills!

An intiuging thought Martin, but it sounds simpler to buy a second battery! Time is also money!

And the bike battery would be about 16 times the size of the camera!
