Desmond Llewelyn would have been my choice, unfortunately he was killed in a car crash many years ago, hence the reason we have John Cleese. If Cleese was used to advertise the Q then I dont think I could take it seriously, I like Johns original idea of John de Lancie but wonder how many people would be aware of his role as Q in Star Trek.

I'm not sure either, but the target audience might. If it had to be in full Star Trek regalia to make the point the payments to the copyright owner might throw the idea out before it started.

I think they do. In fact I know a lot of people under 30, and I know they do.

If any youngsters hear him, they'll think Thomas the Tank Engine rather than Scouse bands.
Oh, by the way Transit, saw your sig and immediately thought Yes lyrics, then spotted your avatar pic - I have far too much prog on vinyl and CD
Wonder if they could do a "Bob Monkhouse" with the good Mr Llewellyn and CGI him back to life to pitch it. Something tells me his family wouldn't be keen.

For those who don't remember, he's the actor who played the character of Q in various versions of Star Trek.
