Q: How to simulate *istDS remote control

Hi,

Here's an unusual one for you.

I want to trigger my *istDS using a software application running on a PocketPC PDA. The PDA has Consumer InfraRed capabilities, i.e. it can change TV channels etc., so I'm not overly concerned about the hardware side. What I don't know however is what to transmit to the camera. I don't have a remote control myself so I can't just 'record' it and analyse it. I wondered if anyone here has any knowledge on the subject, or might even have done the same thing.

Any help appreciated, and Happy New Year to all.

Get friendly with your camera dealer, maybe they have a remote for sale, and will, if your actually buying something else, let you test it. record it to your palm to find out if it works and let us know.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I have a remote control, an *ist-D, and a Pocket PC - I could sample the IR for you if you let me know which remote software you're using...

Thanks for the links, which were very useful. I've downloaded the Palm sourcecode and will adapt it for PocketPC when I get a chance.
