Have a look on Ebay. There are plenty of ads for stick-on protectors.

Although I've never had one of these protectors on a camera (but I've never owned a DSLR before), I do have one on my mobile phone (a SE P900)
The fact that my screen is still OK is testament to their efficiency given how I abuse my mobile.
You do need to be carefull when applying to stop dust getting underneath but I suggest that they're a good investment. I'd want one specifically designed for the camera though (not cut from a sheet).
Let us know if you find a iST DS specific one.

Thanks George and Terry.
Terry I did not find an ist ds one but in Jessops I got lcd protectors. Three for about £3.99. out of each strip you can cut roughly 4 to size for the ds.
No problem cutting and applying. I would strongly recommend them.

I like the combination LCD hood and protector. I have one for my Fuji and as soon as they are available for the DS I will get one. They are great in the sun to see the menu, and the hood can be removed leaving behind an optical glass protective screen. I bought my last from www.foto-tip.com they are in Poland. But Hubert the owner is great to deal with.

Just take a small piece of Saran Wrap and stick it over the LCD. And keep your fingers off the screen!
When the Saran Wrap peels off, put another piece on!

I am worried that when suspended from the strap the screen will be continuously rubbing against something even if its only clothing and could soon become badly worn.
