Printing photos

A lot of my pics have faded But since upgrading from an old HP to an Epsom and Epsom recommeded paper the results are way better.

I wouldn't worry unduly about not printing off loads of pics.

Just take a moment to recal when you were using film and you got a set of prints back from the lab, you probably looked at them a couple of times showed them round family and friends and then they got put away and rarely saw the light of day, unless of course it was an exceptional shot in which case it got framed and even sometimes enlarged.

Our habits are also changing and we now share pics online through the likes of Facebook or burn them to disc and show them through the DVD player so everyone gets to see them at the same time, remember those days when we had to wait in turn to browse through an album

Give it a few more years till the digital photo frame increases in size and redces in cost and prints will become even less fashionable.

PS: I'm also guilty of printing off an average of 1/200

or o.l.e.d.'s get get embedded into wallpaper, and you can display them with your walls!

I don't print off loads of pics, it was just that it occurred to me that I rarely print them off and they do look good printed. I don't have the wall space for many framed photos, but sometimes it is nice to have a print to show people, or even just to look back on. I recently looked through my Route 66 album, made before I went digital, and really enjoyed it.
I have also been having birthday cards printed recently (for those of you in Holland I can recommend the TNTpost service!) which have always been well received.
At least thatI don't bore everyone I meet with photos of my grandson, partly because I'm not that sort of Oma, but mostly because I don't print them out. Now maybe if I got one of those digital photo frame key rings....

i get the good ones printed off at the local photo shop who i also go to for my film stuff - it keeps them in buisness and is far cheaper & better quality than home printing! All i need now are some new albums!!!

Most of my printing goes on handmade photo art cards that I sell, so it's usually 4x6, so I do get to see quite a few.

However, I have just begun to print one A4 fav mono image that sums up the experience of each country I have visited, which is framed and hung on the wall.

As to holiday/travel pics I still make up an album for each trip of the best say 200 shots, with notes, as I have awful memory and wd never remember names or places etc and that to me is so bad not knowing where the hec you've been!

My next plan with the K10D as now I am up to 6000, is to print an A4 of each my most stunning shots onto archival paper and store in acid free sleeves to create my portfolio. My (80 years!) friend who is working towards her ARPS is doing this and it looks good.

A3 enlargements have been very satisfactory as Matt says from ProAm, in fact I was amazed at the quality for £1! Family members have a few of my A3 prints framed on their walls, which is very nice and at that price it seems crazy to spend out on an A3 printer for the time being. The toned monowork that came back from them was top quality as well.

I must admit I get much more satisfaction from my prints now than I do from the screen.
