Personally, I no longer print my own. I use Snappy Snaps, but if I were in Tbilisi I would try one of the Internet print companies. Much less hassle.

I'd suggest looking into the Epson line of printers, they make some of the best photo printers you can get.

I do not have online/internet print companies here.
hence my original question.
I could email them to UK and then have the prints sent over here, but our postal service is so bad they would rarely get here.
Actually I would be lucky to even email the pics, we still have that old thing called dial up connection here.
To put things into the correct perspective, last month I managed to get my telephone land line transfered to tone dial (at a great personal cost)
Up until then I was still on pulse dial.
In october I move to Baku and will then get broadband and hopefully internet printing services down there, but I still need a printer.

Mike,
Personally, I'd look to a 6 colour Canon - one of the Pixma range is the current choice. I have a slightly older S820 and I'm delighted with it. A lot faster ands quieter than the Epsons.
Can be iffy on non-Canon inks (can't they all) but fine on Fuji multijet paper (cheap at www.7dayshop.com).
I always use Canon Easy Photo Print to actually print (from the Pentax or the Rollei) although I still tweak images in PSP9.

Of course you have internet printers there. Use a UK one, and get them to post to you.

George.
Unfortunalely the postal service here is less reliable than a carrier pigeon, and I believe that the last carrier pigeon was shot in 1892 by some one in America.
All mail goes via Moscow, where they open it/steal it/or just throw it away just because it is addressed to Tbilisi in Georgia.

When I worked in far-away places (like Central Africa) I always made sure I had a few friends in the local Embassy/High Commision.

I was thinking of upgrading from my little old cheap HP printer, however due to it deciding to give up the ghost completely today I now need to upgrade.
Over here in Tbilisi he do not yet have the luxury of online printing facilities, we do have a Digital Kodak shop, however they just have the signs outside the front of the shop, the digital processing is not yet installed.
I want to be able to print up to A4 size max.
We can get most types of photo paper here so that should not be a problem.
Is there any way to protect the printed image, last time some one with sticky mits smudged the image.
As you can tell, my knowledge of printing digital images is limited, I was a standard film guy that only used digital for emailing pics for work etc, now I have the istd I want to start producing some good images that can be displayed.
We are limited to the number of different printers available in the shops here but they can order in any make or model in 14 days.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
