Hi Kris. I hope you don't mind me jumping on your post??? I also have some inks I neither want or need any more. I have a box full of all colours of ink for the Epson 800 or 1800 8 ink A4 printers. FREE. My 800 is due for the dump as its print head is all goooooed up and I got myself a XP-960 A3 model. If anybody wants the inks then it will be on a collect only basis. ( I'm one of the very vulnerable types and have been shielding since 06/03/2020 ) I'm in Kettering Northants. If anyone is interested please P.M. me.
Sorry I jumped on your post Kris. Once again I hope you don't mind.
CHEERS Vic.

Another one to "jump in" - I have a fairly large number of genuine Canon, and "compatible" &/or refilled, 525 & 526 series cartridges that were to be used with the PIXMA MX895 that then got a clogged-up head a couple of years ago - but I've never (and probably never will) got around to trying to clean it.
Again, free but pickup-only in W.London - PM me if interested.

Sorry not to have responded before (many "unfortunate" stuff going on) but will aim to deal with it tomorrow.

Unfortunately, because I didn't make clear exactly which Canon cartridges are on offer, they turned out not to be of any use to smc/Chris.
Therefore this is what's available to collect from W.London:
- 4x unused genuine Canon 525 PGBK Black cartridges +1 (possibly 2) unused "compatible"
- 2x unused genuine Canon 526 Black cartridges
- 1x unused genuine Canon 526Y (Yellow), & 1x refilled one
- 1x refilled Canon 526M (Magenta)
- 1x refilled Canon 526C (Cyan).
PM me if interested.

Thank you. The Royal Mail might be simplest, or Parcel 2Go.

Glad to have been of possible assistance - despite choosing HERMES as the cheapest courier because, according to Matt Alwright on "The One Show"/ "Watchdog", HERMES seems to be (although not in my recent personal experience) to be one of the less-reliable courier services.
Anyway, hope the cartridges (or at least most of them!) will actually work - and then I may get around to trying to "de-clog" the printhead on the old PIXMA 895 and see if the few cartridges that I retained do themselves still work.

I've already got a set of printerhead cleaning cartridges + instructions, but just never around to trying them out - hope they do "do the business" as the 895 "print quality" seems to have been better than the current 8550 (and it had automatic double-sided copying).

I've managed to recover several blocked printheads with a quick burst in an ultrasonic cleaner. I also managed to destroy another head by making the burst too long!
Generally I alternate a genuine cartridge with a compatible or refilled one which seems to help.
Hope you can get yours sorted out.

I've got, but never used, a small ultrasonic jewellery cleaner (actually bought as an Xmas present for SWMBO, but she never used it either!) - so how long do you think a "quick burst" on a printhead should be?

Try four or five seconds. I can't say how too long would be. First of all though try washing the print head through with warm (not hot) water and try the ultrasonic as a last resort.

Hertfordshire, mostly.
I have some HP 364 ink cartridges that we don't need anymore as we got a new printer.
1 x four colour multipack (£33 on Amazon).
1 x photo black (£10 on Amazon)
1 x yellow, 1 x magenta from a multipack that didn't get used (no box).
£30 plus postage, anyone?
Thanks Kris.
