Prices vary enormously and are always open to negotiation, last time I looked there was a calculator on the National Union of Journalists web site. It is always a bit of a minefield in my experience.

Thanks for the reply..I appreciate it's very difficult to provide guidance on this...
I've looked on Alamy for the same useage etc which gives me some idea - the only thing is Alamy images are "stock" images so is this a reasonable comparison - I'd like to think my images are a little better than stock ones and if so perhaps worth slightly more, maybe this is irrelevant ?

I certainly think you should get more than stock images, I had these links buried in my favourites folder: link
http://www.lodgephoto.com/
The second one I saved because there is a nifty little calculator (I think it is part of the site where is pictures are hosted) and you can work out UK calendar usage for one year etc.

Hi,
Just had a look in the 2010 Freelance Photographers Market Handbook.
This suggests that if you are new to the field then let the company make you an offer but generally not accept less than £75 for Card and Calendar rights. You are free to sell the same pics to a non competing buyer (Say Magazine)at a later date but to another greeting card supplier.
Regards - Pete

Remember that you'll need to pay tax on any profit (unless you offset it against new gear!) but just as important as the money is the advertising. Will they allow your name and website to appear on the merchandise?
