PPG Images

Now that PPG has died is there a way to recover Full Size, as posted Images from the gallery. I have some images I'd like to recover to my computer. Still think there should have been some sort of announcement from Richo but of course they don't seem to be interested in the user, prior or future customers.

Stan

I've just had a look and the site is still there, so are all the images. The right-click option seems to be disabled, but I suppose a screen grab would work. The quality doesn't seem great though so not the best way to keep an archive copy.

Always keep a copy ourselves is the ideal thing, with a backup just in case something goes wrong with any individual drive.
Best regards, John

Hi Stan, how many images are you after?

The freeware JDownloader can recover them. It's a bit funny to use being written in Java, but quite good at doing the job. Also works for Youtube videos. I've just tried it on two of your files and it works OK.

20229036_1352242173_Autumn Derwent Water.jpg ...... 428KB

20355291_1489753084_Tufted Squirrel10.jpg ..... 188KB

I'll delete the copied files later.

If it's only 6 or so I can grab them and email them to you if you want.

http://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2

It picks up Youtube URL's automatically. Practise on one first. For yours you have to copy and paste the URL of one of the pic. It then finds all downloadable files and you pick from the list. Highlight the one you want and then Right Click and choose start download.

If you are in your gallery rather than on an individual image the right Click is still there with the option to Save as.

That just saves the thumbnail. The full size might be in the browser cache?

JDownloader is easier.

Just messing around with a Firefox extension called FlashGot. It's a bit funny, but without asking it downloaded 45 files Total 10.9MB Sizes up to 605kb for "20244016_1360918662_Seaton Sluice.jpg"

Not sure if that's all there is? If you want I can email you a ZIP file containing the 45 files.

EDIT: The Jpegs are already compressed and the ZIP is about 3% smaller at 10.7MB. I could send it as 2 ZIP files.

Thanks for the quick responce. I'll run through and see which images I wan't and make a list, then check if I have them or not stored elsewhere. Will come back on here if I have no luck in finding the original. Think I have 4 HDD's in one computer and 3 in the spare which was my main computer for a while. The external drives have more recent stuff on them

I have a feeling the PPG images were never available for download by right click

They were also a small size requirement so not good for a backup.
