Power Zoom lens on K200D?

I've sold the FA 28-80mm Power Zoom lens I mentioned in the thread below to another buyer:

The buyer reports that Power Zooming doesn't work. I'm wondering if this is "user error" because power zooming did work on my K20D, and I assumed the K200D would be compatible since it is SDM compatible.

I have a K100D super which is SDM compatible.

It states categorically in the manual that power zoom does NOT work
